Dr. Gregory McCormick is the director of corneal and refractive surgery at Ophthalmic Consultants of Vermont and Vermont Laser Vision at Timber Lane. Originally from the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont, he graduated from Harvard College and the University of Vermont College of Medicine. He completed fellowship training in corneal and laser refractive surgery beyond completion of ophthalmology residency at the University of Rochester Eye Institute. Dr. McCormick’s expertise includes cataract surgery, corneal surgery including penetrating and partial thickness corneal transplantation, keratoprosthesis, LASIK, LASEK, and phototherapeutic keratectomy.
Dr. McCormick has been an innovative researcher related to laser vision correction’s “wavefront” technology with award winning research presentations at the International Society of Refractive Surgery Annual Meeting in 2002 and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery Annual Meeting in 2006. He was asked in 2010 by the President of the International Society of Refractive Surgery to help construct a three-year Strategic Plan to provide the ISRS with a pathway for future growth and success. Dr. McCormick is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology Ethics Committee.
He has written numerous publications in leading ophthalmology journals and text books, serves as a reviewer for the Journal of Refractive Surgery, the Journal of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, and has authored a peer review column for Cataract and Refractive Surgery Today.
